 Hello, I'm Rev. Scott McKirdy. You have taken the time to find our home page. I hope you have been able to find answers to some questions. Better yet, maybe your curiosity is even higher about who and what this church is all about! Let me tell you just a bit about myself and about our congregation.I have served all my life as an active part of my home churches. Raised as a preacher's kid, I have loved being an active part of the body of Christ since I was a kid no matter where I have lived . Before I was a preacher, I was a teacher. My undergrad degree is from Jamestown College in Music Education, and I spent five years teaching music in two different towns in South Dakota. During this time I always knew that God had some surprises waiting for me. I accepted God's call and received my Masters Degree from Iliff School of Theology in Denver, being ordained in 1989 while still in seminary. We came to Dickinson in June of 2000 as I accepted the appointment to this church and they accepted me. My wife, Colleen, and I have two daughters - Grace and Emma. Music, church, and community activities here in Dickinson keep us wonderfully involved and busy. What can I tell you about the church? I can tell you that this congregation is a warm and accepting community of faith. We really try to be open, caring, inclusive, and tolerant while all the while searching to deepen ourselves in faith. Every week we have people worshiping together who grew up in many different faith traditions. This is a diverse, multi-generational gathering of folks who believe in God and in each other. We focus on the grace of Jesus Christ and God's ability to claim us in our day-to-day walks. This is not a place where you will find all the answers, but it is a place where you can ask the questions. Looking for a place to call "home" in your faith?
